Open House Party – Susan at Days At Buttermilk Cottage

Welcome to the Open House Party.
I am so glad you are here and I look forward to seeing what you have to share this week.
The link to join the party is at the end of this post.
Today we will be touring the pretty home of Susan at Days At Buttermilk Cottage.  Susan is one of the
sweetest ladies I have “met” through blogging.   I know many of you also adore her and her blog.
Thank you Susan for opening up your home for the Open House Party this week.
Susan and her sister Nancy share this wonderful 100 year old home that they have affectionately
named Buttermilk Cottage.
Each year the neighborhood hosts a fund raiser yard sale to benefit the homeowners association.
Buttermilk Cottage opens a small bistro on their lovely porch.
Susan bakes and freezes for weeks for this event.

Cute home office with a pretty view of the garden.

Aren’t these mice the most adorable thing..EVER?  I am so in love with these little creatures.
This year Susan knitted sweaters for 100 of these little guys for an upcoming fiber show.  I can see why she sold out the last two years.
I hope you will stop by for a visit at the wonderful blog  Days At Buttermilk Cottage  and check out the Etsy shop where Susan sells many of her beautiful knitted items.
Please also visit the blog  Nanniepannies which is written by Susan’s sister.   Nancy has
a delightful blog where she features her love of gardening.
I hope you enjoyed touring another beautiful home this week.
Thank you Susan!

  1. I loved your feature about Buttermilk Cottage, and since I'm not familiar with her blog I will go check it out. Thank you for hosting Open House Party…it's always fun!

  2. Hey Sherry! what a charming home. Reminds me of these wonderful old homes on Grove Avenue. My college room mate lived in one just like it. Couldn't you just sit on that porch all day long? Thanks for hosting The Open House. Always a great party. xoxo

  3. Susan and her sister have such a lovely home. I love the porch and what a terrific idea for a fund raiser. The cakes look delicious. Thanks for introducing Buttermilk cottage. I'll pop in to say hello.
    Thanks for hosting.

  5. Hi Sherry…

Ohhh my…Susan and her sister have a beautiful home! I just adore these beautiful old brick bungalows! Charming!!!

Well…I seen sooo many things that I love about Susan's home! I love her red dining area with the word saying on the wall! Very pretty! And…I love that gorgeous gallery wall in the bath! I'll have to go over to Buttermilk cottage and see if I can find the entire bathroom…I would love to see it! I think it's wonderful how Susan and her sister create a bistro for raising funds for their homeowner's association. It's just darling and the menu looks scrumptious! Susan would definitely have me for a customer! Hehe! Thank you Susan, for sharing your gorgeous home with us…this was such a treat!

Thank you, Sherry…for the tour around Buttermilk Cottage! And…thank you for hosting another Open House party for us! Sure do appreciate you, sweet lady!

    Love ya,
    Chari

  6. Bistro on the Porch is a clever idea for a neighborhood fund raiser. And thank you for featuring Buttermilk Cottage. It's a beautiful home! I'm a fan of both of these sisters and their blogs. Great feature!
As always, thank you for hosting this fun party. ~ Sarah

  7. Love Buttermilk Cottage! This would be a wonderful neighborhood event, if for no other reason than to sit on that porch and visit over lemonade and cookies.

  8. Oh Sherry, Buttermilk Cottage is adorable! I'd love to be there on that weekend they run the Bistro — what fun! And what a lot of work for the sisters, too — but those things are so rewarding.

Charming home — I ENVY her that home office space; it is so TIDY and beautiful. Sigh . . . . mine looks like the town dump.

Also their home is so very like the house we had before this one — it was a 1918 brick Craftsman with a big front porch — makes me sentimental.

    Thanks for hosting!
    those mice are darling!!!

  9. Your posts always make me feel "at home". Honestly. It's hearty, loving, warm.

I'm sorry I'm missing some of your posts lately. But I'm trying to spend very little time in front of the computer. I have too much pain if I stay here for too long. So, I'm trying to take it easy now, since there's only 4 weeks to go. I can't wait to meet my son. 🙂

    Wishing you a blessed weekend.
