It’s blueberry season here in central Florida and over the weekend Steve and I visited one of the many U Pick farms in our area. We brought home five pounds of berries! I froze half of them and cooked some down with sugar for syrup.
So far we have used the fresh berries in homemade pancakes, shortcake (yum!) and added them to a fruit salad of watermelon, cantaloupe and bananas. I see many smoothies in our near future.
I am looking for ideas. What is your favorite way to eat blueberries?
One of the great things about living in Florida is the availability of fresh, local produce. You will normally find me at the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.
I love all the ways you mentioned, but we also enjoy blueberry muffins which I freeze. When we want one we just pop it in the microwave for 15 seconds and it is as if it was just baked!
Oh how I miss the blueberry and strawberry picking adventures in Florida!….Great flowers and produce there year round!
Enjoy!
Blueberries are so good for you! I wish I liked eating them raw. I prefer them baked in muffins and in pancakes.
We usually go blue berry picking when the grand girls come…..they think it is so much fun. Try this recipe Sherry…easy 🙂

Sherry, those blueberries look so good! I love to eat them mixed with other fruits for a light snack! They are so refreshing and full of antioxidants.
