2015 Christmas Home Tour

Welcome to our 2015 Christmas Home Tour.

A very special thank you to Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for inviting me to participate in this years Christmas Home Tour.  Make sure you stop by Marty’s blog to see her home beautifully decorated for Christmas.

You’ll be able to share your Christmas décor at any of the participating blogs, including right here. I would love for you to come back on Friday and link up at the bottom of this page.

If you are coming from Decorating Delirium, Welcome!

This year I decided to put our small flocked tree in the antique olive jar.

The large ammo basket will hold gifts if I ever get time to go shopping.  Can you believe I haven’t bought a single gift yet?  The little ammo basket was a gift from my husband several years ago.  The small ones are rarer and hard to find.

I couldn’t decorate for Christmas without adding a touch of coastal decor.

I drew the deer (which I have been told looks a lot like a dog with horns) on the chalk board and added this pretty garland to the chandelier.  The garland was a recent giveaway win from Kathryn at The Dedicated House .

At Christmas time this red transferware replaces the blue and white normally displayed in the kitchen eat in area.

Here is a teaser shot of the range hood in our nearly updated kitchen.   A small amount of trim on the built in microwave is all that remains to do.  I am in love with the kitchen transformation and can’t wait to share it with you. I’ll be posting pictures and details shortly.

It was a lot of fun making a skirt for my antique dress form.  I first added lights to some cheap garland and wrapped it around the dress form.  Fresh greenery was added to help cover the garland and then fifty two peacock feathers were added that I picked up while thrifting for just a few dollars.

  1. Oh my word, I love your little flocked tree in the olive jar, how pretty and your ammo baskets are fabulous. Now of course everything takes a back seat to that peacock skirt for your lady, that is totally and truthfully the most amazing thing I have seen. I love it. Great tour.

  2. Sherry your tree in the olive jar is just pure visual delight! I also am truly smitten with your peacock skirt wearing mannequin. I will be featuring you on my tour roundup this Saturday.
May all the blessings of the season be yours.

  3. Your tour is pure eye candy Sherry. I have a huge adoration of peacocks, so your peacock feather skirt is amazing. Merry Christmas to you Sherry! xo Jennifer@decoratingdelirium

  4. Oh my goodness….that peacock garland skirt for your dress form is amazing! Great job! I'm drooling over all of the fantastic vintage finds in your home, especially your baskets. Please share your source!!!! 🙂

  5. It's all so beautiful! I love the deer you drew on your chalkboard. It doesn't look like a dog to me! I also love that neat feathered skirt you made for the dress form! That was a very creative idea.

  6. Thanks to everyone for visiting and taking the time to leave such sweet comments. Wishing you and your family the happiest of Holidays.
    Hugs,

  7. Was so looking forward to seeing your holiday finery Sherry and you didn't disappoint….just so beautiful. I am loving it all especially "oh deer". Have a wonderful Christmas! We will be traveling to Chicago for the holidays so not much decorating for me. Did the front porch for the Fed-ex/ups guys and I bought a tiny live tree decorated with just tiny lights. We will plant in the yard later. xoxo Lynn

  8. So many beautiful details, Sherry! The ammo baskets are adorable, as well as the oh deer art. But the peacock mannequin is just stunning, I love it! Oh, and the range hood looks really good, you know I love those projects! 😉

  9. Oh Sherry, your taste and style is just absolutely gorgeous! I'm in love with your tree in the urn and that deer head is just genius and adds a touch of perfect whimsy! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

  10. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family….Hope all is well….regards to hubby!!

  11. Sherry,

Your home looks beautiful!, Sherry! You have so many pretty and festive touches that you work in and around your decor—that is smart and creative. You have a great collection of pottery-that I love! I also love your red Transferware, and that darling skirt you made for your dress form, how cute!!

I can't wait to see more of your kitchen, we are redoing ours from the bottom up. How hard it is to make decisions and not really know how all the pieces will look together!

Good luck with the shopping. Make a quick trip to a mall or a little town main street and then do the rest online, curled up with a cup of tea and a good Christmas movie!! 🙂

  13. Everything looks so beautiful and festive! I love the tree in the olive jar…great idea! The dress form is smashing with the creative skirt. The Oh Deer is too cute. I think I will "walk through" your home tour again.

  14. Your home looks beautiful Sherry. Everything is lovely but your mannequin with the peacock feathers may just be the piece de resistance! By the way, I don't think your deer head looks like a dog at all! I'm loving the peek at your kitchen makeover and fully expect that ONE day mine will have a similar range hood and backsplash.
Christmas blessing to you my friend,
    Patti
