We Need Your Prayers

My father’s health has been deteriorating over the last year.  I just got off
the phone with him and he is not doing well.  We immediately made
reservations to fly to Orlando tomorrow.
Dad doesn’t have Internet access so I’ll probably be out of the loop
for a while.
Dad was both mother and father to me for most of my life and he means
the world to me.   I remember as a little girl watching him sleep and
making sure he was breathing.  I was so scared of losing him.
That same panic is with me tonight as I ask that you keep him in
your prayers.
Thank you.

  1. Oh dear Sherry, I most inmediatelly pray for your dear dad, for his prompt recovery. I know what you mean, I asked for prayers for my son-in-law and it definetelly helped with his delicate spine operation and he's doing really well. Please don't get nervous, you'll see, our Lord will help him recover soon and I'm so happy you can go and be with him. Prayers will go his way.

  12. You are in my prayers tonight. I was with my father when he passed away in Oct. It was the hardest and most difficult thing I have ever done but I would not have done it any differently. My father slipped away while hearing my voice reassuring him. I was there to make sure he was treated with respect and he was not alone making it also one of the best things I have ever done.

I hope you are able to be with him in his last hours My prayers are with you both.

  14. Sherry…

I just read your post and I am praying for both you and your father. Ironically I am here in Florida visiting family and I am only about 1 1/2 hours from Orlando. We are down until next Wednesday and we drove so I have a car. I know you don't know me personally but if you need anything and you're having trouble finding help, please know that you can contact me. I also happen to be a registered nurse.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

  15. I am standing on God's promises and trusting that He is holding your daddy and you in His mighty and gentle hands. I pray that in the midst of this rocky path that you will be filled with His holy peace…that peace beyond understanding. I know that there is power in united prayer, and I pray that you will stay encouraged and equipped from all of the loving prayers flying to heaven for you. I claim the Lord's protection for you as you travel. Your daddy is blessed to have you as his daughter; your love for him is palpable. God speed. Cherry Kay

  19. I'm so sorry Sherry. I will pray for him and no matter what happens, celebrate what a great Dad he has always been and always will be, in your heart.

  20. I can feel the pain in your words. I pray you'll have peace in the days ahead, and that your father will be comforted by your presence and love. May you find strength in from family and friends. you are in my thoughts…

  21. Bless your heart, your father's heart, and all others who love him. Wishing him strength and better health! Wishing you strength and peace.

We're dealing with a similar situation with DH's father, but he wasn't the kind, loving father that you have and I had so there is a real mixed bag of emotions going on here.

    You're all in my prayers.
