A Little Bummed!

Our son, daughter in law and two grand kids left today for their move to Florida.  Originally the move was to take place after Christmas but then they found out they could get into their house earlier.  Bah Humbug!

I know this is a good move for them and they will be very happy in their new city. This doesn’t keep me from being bummed or from lots pouting though!

We were able to do a small Christmas celebration last weekend before they left.  Here are a couple of pictures of the Aden and Sadie opening their gifts.

It sure is going to be quite around here!

  1. Aww, I am so sorry for you. But hey, I bet you'll be popping on here one day soon, apologizing for being gone so long, and telling us what a pretty tan you got while in Florida.
Honestly, I couldn't imagine my house being quiet and peaceful. On a lighter note, I added your party link thing to my blog (with your not so geeky instructions) Yay me! Hurry, go and see!

  2. I'm sorry for your disappointment; but now you can go to Florida to visit. Our kids don't live anywhere exciting for us to go visit. Looking forward to your linky party. Sally

  3. Oh Sherry, it is so hard when the children move away. I think you deserve to pout all day and possibly for a week or so. Even though we know it is good for their lives, it is still so hard. The children are just adorable, and I know you will miss them terribly. I am sending a huge HUG. Marty

  4. Ah, sorry, Sherry! I know that at some point my daughter, her hubby and the baby may move. Long Island is just too expensive for these kids. I'm hoping we have a few years, though, that won't make it any easier. I'm dreading the day. I hope you get to see them soon!

  5. You just pout all you want Sherry! It is so hard living away from family, believe me, I know how it feels! Your grandkids are absolutely darling and I'm so glad you got to have some celebrating together before they moved.
    Hang in there!

  6. So sorry, I can imagine that it will be hard even though you are happy for them. It is only a matter of time before you get into new routines and find new ways to enjoy your children and grandchildren.

    Best Wishes,
    Laura

  7. I'm so sorry for you! Your grand-babies are beautiful. I kind of know your sadness….after 24 years of being away from my mom and dad I was able to build a home right next door to them, my 12 year old was in heaven….With the economic downturn my parents had to move to Colorado. It was the hardest thing to do in the morning, to get up and see their empty house! But it does get easier, you must know. Hang in there!

  8. Well, I'm just sad now. I can't imagine having to move away from my parents. I know it would kill them not to see my children. I hope you're able to take many trips to see them. Hugs tonight. I'm sure you could use them.
