Homearama Pictures

Last Saturday Hubby and I had a nice and relaxing day. We started the day by touring six new homes all decorated by different designers.  I recognized a lot of the furniture and accessories from Pottery Barn and Ballards.  It was a beautiful day and they had a band playing light jazz, a winery serving samples and different vendors set up with home improvement ideas.  I thought you might enjoy seeing some of the pictures I took of the homes.

All of the designers used grain and coffee sacks in the homes.
Recognize the shelf from Pottery Barn?  The tag on the wall would be an easy knock-off!
Every house had at least one room painted green. That’s good news for me since I have several green rooms.
Love the colors and this desk! This was such a beautiful bedroom.
This is just a small sample of the eighty or so pictures I took!  Why so many?  You see the Homearama ends on October 3rd and the next day all the furniture and accessories go on sale to the public!  Remember I said there are lots of things from Pottery Barn and Ballards?   My pictures are of items I am interested in and  which house they are located.  I already talked one of the builder’s wife into letting me see the price list and I could see things were very discounted.  I can’t wait until October 4Th!
Thanks for taking this tour with me.
xoxo,
Sherry

  1. Sherry, I love going on those home tours. We use to have two here every year. One was the Street of Dreams and then there was another one. Since the economy slump and the construction stopped I guess there was no need for these extravegant homes. I hope they start having them again. I love all these rooms you shot. Love the banquette in the kitchen and that bedroom you liked I like, too. Good luck getting the items you want.

  2. What great eye candy! Those last few pics were my favorite and that soaking tub is to die for! Thanks for sharing this great inspiration with us!

  3. I had just put down the Ballard catalogue that came in the mail yesterday, before logging on this morning and thinking, "I want something in grain sacks …" and there you mention their use! I love house tours and the ones you visited look very classy, what a nice afternoon. I'm envious of your upcoming shopping spree…

  4. Oohh, I love to look at these kind of pictures…gives me such inspiration. I LOVE that huge wood piece over the bed and that tag is adorable! You will have to let us know what you get!!

  5. It took me a few minutes to recover from reading your post before I could leave a comment. I was hyperventilating at the thought of you being able to buy any of that gorgeous stuff. But I'm OK now, I found an old grain sack to breather into.

So, I'll let you know what time to pick me up at the airport so I can go to the sale with you. Thanks. Lisa~

  6. I went on a home tour last weekend too but not new homes….very very old homes out in the country. I will be doing a blog post very soon about it. It will be fun to meet up for lunch and a treasure hunt. We could meet at your mall or anywhere that is convenient for you. Do you ever come over the river? 🙂

  8. I love those showcases houses…..until I get to my house and notice how bad it looks in comparison. If I were you, I'd be wanting everything in those homes and would have a hard time deciding what to attempt to buy. Good luck on getting what you wanted.

I have given you the Versatile Blogger Award and would love for you to come by and pick it up when you have time.

  9. LOOOOOOOOOOVE that chair!! And the Tub on the platform! I did that for a client and want to do it in my own home now. SO FAB! Thanks for the fun tour! I also LOVE Green and have a ton of it in my home. It is the BEST neutral in my opinion as a designer 🙂 xo -Molly

  10. Often when I go through designer homes I have difficulty actually imagining people living in them. Some of these pictures are to dream about living there. Now be honest, did you not post a few pics of your best finds so no one else tries to buy your favorites?
Love the tub but I still think I'd be nervous about being RIGHT IN the window.

  11. Thank you for the kind words. This is my first visit to your blog and I love it! I've never been on a home tour before. Looks like a lot of fun.
    Blessings,
