I am having lunch with CHARLES FAUDREE!!

Charles Faudree  has been my favorite designer since I first saw one of his rooms.  I have all his books and anytime he has been featured in a magazine I have saved that issue. His work has been in all the major magazines and I think I have every one. I actually named this blog with Faudree in mind. Since I am his biggest  fan, you can imagine my excitement when I found out I could actually meet him! 

Faudree will be at the Richmond Symphony Designer House  on September 30Th.  Included in the event will be a tour of  the spectacular 10,000 square foot Rothesay Home that has been transformed by forty very talented designers.  The gardens and eight acres overlooking the James River have also been revamped by  local landscape designers.

After the tour Faudree will be doing a presentation and book signing followed by a champagne lunch.  After lunch Faudree, and a group of designers that transformed the home, will be doing a panel discussion  and we will have the opportunity to ask questions about our own decorating dilemmas. .
The moment I found out about the event I rushed to buy tickets.  Can you tell how absolutely giddy I am?
I am sure you will be hearing more from me after meeting this amazing designer.  I wish all of you could go with me.

  3. Oh Sherry!!!!!! You LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY GIRL!!!!! Oh my GOOOOSSSHHHH!! He is my absolute favorite designer and inspiration as well!!! I would SOOOO love to meet him someday! I hope he comes to California soon-( please tell him the weather is fantastic out in S.F. and he NEEDS to come out here ASAP!!)   5. Sherry, I am all shades of green! I probably have all of Faudree's books. I am so happy for you. Please post about your fun event!
    This would have been an event I would not have missed if I lived close by.
    Oh, have bunches of fun… get tons of inspriation… and take lots of pictures!!!!

  8. Are you kidding? OMG, I would be doing the happy dance if I could meet the one and only Charles Faudree. He is my favorite designer too. I have every book, every magazine article. He has had the biggest influence on me and how I decorate my home. You are one lucky lady Sherry! Please take pictures and tell us all about it. xo Delores

  9. Ohhh, I'm so jealous! I've always loved and admired Charles Faudree's design style and have several books featuring his work. His is truly a "no minimalist approach" but one that I love, no matter what the current trend is.

  15. You lucky duck, that is exciting. Two of my favorite spaces are in his house (the lake house, I think?) Remember the wallpapered bath with the zinc tub and scrubbed pine armoire? Love that one. And the screened porch is to die for.

    Ohhh my goodness…are you serious??? You will be meeting Charles Faudree? Girlfriend, that is sooo awesome and I'm just green with envy!!! He is my very favorite interior designer of all time! I think I have all of his books as well! Hehe! He is such a gifted and creative man!!! Ohhh…I am sooo excited for you, Sherry! It's also going to be fabulous to tour the Rothesay Home! Girlfriend, enjoy…and have a great time! Ohhh…can you take photos? Hehe!

  21. Oh Sherry, how exciting! The first time I ever saw his work (I think in Traditional Home), I fell in love with his style. I wish I could go with you too. Will you be able to take pictures of the decorated house? I'd love to see those pictures. Can't wait to read all about the meeting and the house tour. laurie
