Courtyard Before And After

It has been really hot here in Florida with LOTS of rain.  All this rain makes it hard to plan outdoor activities but it has kept our plants alive and thriving.

The enclosed courtyard is in the front of our house and visitors walk through it to get to the front door.  It is the favorite part of our house and the first impression for anyone dropping by.

Enjoy the tour…..

The pots are the newest addition to the courtyard.

I am trying to train the bougainvillea to cover the trellis.

Are you ready to see what the courtyard looked like on the MLS when we bought the home three years ago?
The pink exterior has been toned down the doors painted. See the difference below.
This was the day we moved in and the only plant in the space was a small palm.
I hope you enjoyed the tour.
Thanks for dropping by and have a great week!

  1. Oh what a beautiful courtyard Sherry! It has certainly come a long way since the day you moved in. I so love that trellis over the window. Training the bougainvillea to go over that trellis will be so beautiful. I love seeing your courtyard as you know it reminds me of our last home/courtyard in Florida. It has been hot here too, but no rain. Love those pots! So great to see your post today!

  2. Sherry, everything looks lovely and inviting! What a difference! I love your choice of foliage…you are a brave girl choosing ferns in sunny Florida! The trellis is taking my breath away! Can you share the source? I have seen them applied in British gardens, but never here in North America…it is stunning! I follow you, used to blog as Acorn Lane Vintage Living…now I simplified and am on Instagram as Nella Miller Design…love your blog! Best, Nella

  3. your courtyard is such a gorgeous space, Sherry. amazing the difference paint color makes, and all your lovely garden decor and furniture. Love the Lion fountain with the arched trellis behind it.

  4. Your courtyard just becomes more and more beautiful over time and I'm so glad I got to see it in person. I love how you're training that bougainvillea. This made me smile. Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures Sherry.
    Blessings,
    Patti
