Tropical Botanical Garden

Hi everyone.
I hope you are having a great weekend.
The house I grew up in Florida was landscaped with palms, banana and orange trees.  My parents also grew delicious pineapples and avocados. Now that Steve and I have moved back to Florida I want to bring that tropical feel to our own home.  The previous owners had added five palm trees to the yard and we are slowly adding more tropical plants.
A recent trip to Casey Key gave us the perfect opportunity to visit the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota.  I really loved the gardens and would highly recommend it to anyone that loves plants, especially tropicals.
Lets take a look at some of the highlights of our visit.

Mango Tree
The gardens sit right on the bay with views of Sarasota.
.
The banyan trees are my favorite.  I wonder how long it would take me to
grow one this big..LOL
Thanks for dropping by and I hope to see you at the Share Your Style Party.

  1. I love banyan trees! We saw them in Oahu this past spring. Our kids had fun swinging from the hanging branch/roots Tarzan style. Each tree is uniquely wonderful and fun to look at. thanks for sharing yours.

  2. How gorgeous – it looks like a documentary I just watched on the Rain Forest ! As for your house will you be growing fruit trees as well? I'd give anything to be able to grow pineapples !!
