Remembering Mykonos

This post is sponsored by Easy Canvas Prints.
As a young girl I remember seeing photographs of Jackie Onassis standing on her yacht and
walking through the streets of Mykonos.  I was so intrigued with the beautiful images that I knew one
day I had to visit the Greek Islands.  I guess this was the start of my “bucket list” !
Several years ago Steve and I took a cruise from Venice to the Greek Islands and Mykonos did not disappoint.  Arriving in port very early in the morning we were the first ones off the ship.  We wandered around town,  which was very quite and peaceful.  Other than the occasional smell of coffee brewing the town seemed to be empty.
Steve took the picture below during our early morning walk and Easy Canvas Prints turned into this beautiful canvas.
It was a fabulous trip and one I would definitely recommend.  We hope to go back one day and spend several days in both Santorini and Mykonos.  If you would like to see pictures of this trip click on the “Italy and Greece” tab at the top of the blog.
Thanks for visiting!

  1. Oh Sherry…I was always one who loved the idea of Jackie "O" and the Greek Isles as well. I finally got to Santorini in 2002 and loved it! Someday I want to go back to visit both Mykonos and Hydra. Such a beautiful place with so many wonderful memories!
    Thank you for sharing!

  2. Hi Sherry,

Wonderful memories you have of Greece's 'Windy Island', of windmills and white washed houses; one of Greece's gems which I haven't been to yet, and I live practically next door!
