Grateful – the sweetest sheet music ornament

I received the sweetest sheet music ornament from Heather@ Freedom Divine  as one of the winners of her giveaway.  Isn’t this ornament beautiful?

Heather is one very talented lady. She makes the most unique and wonderful things and sales them in her Etsy shop . Here is just a small sampling of her fabulous creations.
Thank you Heather for this wonderful gift.
Steve and I will be having a quite Christmas at home this year.  This is the first time in many years that we will be spending the holiday in our own home.  We love our family and we will miss seeing the grand kids excitement, but at the same time we are looking forward to a quite and relaxed holiday.  For years we have spent the days before the holiday on planes or hours and hours in a car. One year we even took a sixteen hour train trip!
Our family is scattered all over now and it makes seeing everyone at the same time really difficult. We are planning trips in the next few months to see everyone.  I am asking Santa for luggage this year and CSN stores has some wonderful  luggage sets.  Hint, hint Santa!
What are your plans for the holiday?
Happy Holidays to you and your family.

  1. Oh you lucky lady! This ornament is gorgeous!

My main man and I will be home alone this year too. The kids and their families are here to celebrate tomorrow so next week will be calm and quiet. Kinda looking forward to it!

  2. My holiday tradtion has changed pretty dramatically since becoming divorsed a few years ago. Since my daughter has to spit her time between her Dad and me, we have our holiday meal on Christmas Eve. Now that Kate is grown, there is no crazy, up at dawn to open gifts. Instead we sleep in Christmas morning. We have a leisure opening of gifts when we do get up while we have coffee and some decandant baked good. Then we follow that with a big Christmas morning/noon brunch. After that Kate is off to spend the rest of the day with her Dad. So, Christmas day is quiet for me. My sister and I usually have a supper of left overs from the night before. Quite frankly, it makes for a very nice, no stress holiday which I totally enjoy. Of course, with Kate's age, I know we're probably in for some different traditions if/when she marries, etc. I think the trick to making it work nicely is to be open to those changes.
    Best, Susan

  3. Sherry, I am so glad you liked your ornament/wreath. You are a very kind person. Thank you for your post about me. I know you will miss your family on the holidays but, enjoy every minute that you and your husband spend together. I get all sappy during the holidays and it always make me relize how much I love my husband and how much he gets put on the back burner when everyday life with 3 children get all of my time. I love my children dearly but I do look forward to the days of just "us". So enjoy. I wish you the happiest Holidays!!!!
    Hugs,
    Heather H

  4. We don't have far to travel, daughter's family is about 30 min. away and son is 1 1/2 hrs. away but we still have to go visit each one on Christmas Day. Then back home and to the country for David's parents….I would love to just stay home, each year the older I get, the more of a homebody I become.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
    Judy

  6. How pretty! This year we were completely alone on Christmas morning. Usually one daughter comes home for the holiday, but she went to her sister's this year (something about video games and wine…)

We drop by their homes on Christmas eve and open gifts, typically. This year was more of a "just us" Christmas and it was amazingly peaceful. I always thought I would cry when that finally happened… but we were very happy. My husband loved it.
