Dining Room Reveal – Before And After

It feels like forever since I started this dining room renovation/decorating project.  After ordering three rugs, and returning two,  I am finally ready to reveal this room.
You just have to look at our house and you will know I am a big fan of  decorating with blue and white.  I love the curtains from HomeGoods and they set the tone for this room.
We added molding to the top and doors of this built in cabinet.
Here is where we started to create a Dining room.
The previous owners added a wall when they built the house and made this room an office.
Before
Sorry about the lousy cell phone pictures.
See how the wall juts out behind the desk?  This made the room too narrow for a dining room.
Wall removed
New floors were installed, room painted, new lighting and then ready to decorate .

  1. Oh Sherry your dining room is simply gorgeous!!! I love the light color walls with the dark wood of your table and chairs. And I was just today admiring those same panels in the Home Goods near me. OK and that carpet, it is nothing short of FANTASTIC!!! Such a beautifully pulled together room. It may have taken awhile to finish all of the work and decorating but it was well worth it. Love the view of the pool from your dining room too!

  8. Your dining room looks gorgeous! I love the blue and white draperies. They compliment your blue and white pottery and add a splash of color and pattern to your wall. I also like the rug you selected. The black picks up the chair color and the black print on some of your dishes in the shelving unit.

  9. Sherry, your dining room looks beautiful, you did a great job, and it also is so warm and inviting.
I specially love the rug, I want one for my breakfast room too!
The blue and white pieces on top of the dining table are gorgeous too.

  11. Removing the wall made all the difference and created a stellar space. Your dining room is beautiful–those gorgeous chairs, the draperies, the b&w porcelain. Have a great weekend.

  12. I love your dining room, the curtains especially, Sherry. What a difference it made when you removed that wall, truly made it a much more livable space. Thanks for sharing! {off to give my eating area a little face lift quickly after seeing yours!}

  13. Hi Sherry, love your new dining room and the light bright open style. Your table and chairs are similar to mine. Love your chandelier and the white around the room open to the pool area. Love the blue and white too. Your curtains are gorgeous. Removing the whole was perfect.
Thanks for sharing such a gorgeous reveal! CM

  14. Sherry congratulations on your beautiful dining room. Wow. You made such smart choices, what a difference adding molding and doors to your built in. And those blue and white curtains set such a pretty tone. We also have a wall we would love to remove in order to have more of an open floorplan but it happens to be a barring wall in our two story. Sigh. So lots of money to do that. Thanks for sharing I always leave here inspired.
