Blogger Block Christmas Mantels

This is day two of the Blogger Block Christmas Party and Kristin at
My Uncommon Slice Of Suburbia is hosting Christmas Mantels.

Some of you may remember my mantel disaster  last year where most of my
mercury glass ended up in the trash.  Thank you Command Hooks!  I was
not about to make that mistake again so you will not find any glass on the
mantel this year.

My  fifty cent Santos take center stage on the mantel.  I temporarily added the wings to
them taken from other decorations.  I love these little guys and they have to be one of my favorite
thrifting finds ever.
The mantel is decked with faux and real greenery. I always add the real greenery for the
wonderful fragrance.   The altar candlesticks are the ones transformed last year
using Spackle and the candles were painted silver and then glittered.

A special Thank You to Vanessa and Heather  for organizing the Blogger Block Christmas Party and to Kristin for hosting the Mantel Party.
If you missed day one of the party you can still check out Copy Cat decor at Debbiedoo’s.
Below is my Copy Cat project.
*Please join me starting the evening of 12/7 for the Holiday Dining Linky Party.  I’ll be having a great GIVEAWAY starting that evening for all my followers.  Here  is a little hint….
The giveaway item was inspired by our recent trip to Italy and Greece.
Please note the Holiday Dining Party will be held  in lieu of the Open House
party for that evening.  Hope to see you there!

  2. Hi Sherry,
Oh, gosh…I wasn't around last year to hear about your mantel disaster but it makes my heart beat fast just thinking about it!
Your mantel this year couldn't be more beautiful. And your CopyCat tree~ no words! It's fantastic.

  3. Sherry, your mantel is beautiful. Can't believe the deal you found on the Santos. 50 cents, really? Fun to see your inspiration. I haven't decorated anything as yet.

  4. Your mantel is beautiful as always, Sherry. Oh, the command hooks, I completly forgot about that.

  5. I have trouble each year with a few of the 3m hooks. One of my swags always seems to get loose but I don't have anything on them that will break.
Love your mantel. Thanks for sharing.

Your copy cat challenge turned out great!

  7. Your mantel is so elegant. I love those Santos dolls on there. I like how you added wings to them too. I would've just died having my mercury glass come crashing down like that. Thanks for the heads up about those hooks!

  8. Sherry, I bow in the presence of thrifting greatness. The santos are wonderful on the mantle. I am having trouble keeping up with you party girls but I shall try♥ Olive

  9. Ahhhh! I can hardly take it all in Sherry! Your mantel is positively gorgeous and I love how silvery and and sparkly it looks. And your copycat in the previous post is beyond words…seriously my mouth dropped open! I'm so inspired by your talent and creativity as usual and can't wait to see what you have in store for us for the rest of the week. 🙂

  11. Hi Sherry! Your mantel is so pretty! I love your candlesticks, they are so dramatic! I had a mercury glass wipeout a couple years ago as well, very sad day indeed, so I feel your pain!

    Have a Merry Christmas!

  16. Gorgeous mantel! I love the wings on your Santos! So sorry that your mercury glass was broken last year. I had problems with those Command Hooks – they pulled the paint off my mantel! I'm a new follower from the mantel party and having such fun getting inspiration from all of you wonderfully talented folks! Merry Christmas! Hugs, Leena

  17. I love your mantel. It is very elegant and refinned. The Santos really make a statement and they go so well with the candlesticks. Love what you did with those. What a great idea to add the fresh for the smell. I tried all fresh for a few years but couldn't take the mess and it didn't stay nice long enough.

  18. Gorgeous! I love every detail of your mantel. The Santos angels…just lovely and I'm still drooling over your copycat. Vanessa and I had a whole conversation about it today. 😉

Thanks so much for being a party of the block party!

    Heather
