Grow Your Blog With Pinterest

Like many of you I am addicted to Pinterest.

I bet by now most of you know Pinterest lets you organize and share
all the beautiful things you find on the web, but did you know you can use
it to help build your blog?

I didn't either until I started checking my blog's stats and seeing many
referrals from Pinterest.  I was shocked to see that for last three months I
had more visits to my blog from Pinterest than any other source!

If you are looking for a way to grow your blog I would suggest becoming
active with Pinterest. Add a board to your site including pictures of your own
home, projects, recipes ect.  Have fun with it but don't use it purely as a
tool for self-promotion.  Also follow other boards and leave comments
on pins you like. Make sure and add the Pinterest button on your blog so
others can click over to your boards.

You can get information on joining Pinterest HERE.

I use SiteMeter  to check stats and to see who is visiting of my blog.
It is a free tool that can be added to your sidebar.  I prefer SiteMeter
over Google stats because it gives you a lot more information.

I have no connection with Pinterest or SiteMeter,  nor am I being paid
for recommending them.   I love you guys and just want to pass on
information that works for me.

It would be great if you would  follow me on Pinterest by clicking on the button
in the sidebar.  Let me know you are following and I will happily follow
you back.

Do you have any tips to share for growing your blog?

Hugs,
Sherry

I agree 100%. Pinterest is the 2nd largest referrer to my blog now. Who knew, when Pinterest started, that we'd get traffic from it. I've found quite a few blogs that I never would have ever found if it wasn't for Pinterest too. So it goes both ways!

A few months ago I started getting thousands of page views daily from Pinterest vs. my couple of hundred daily prior to it. Someone had pinned one of my projects and it's just taken off. Pinterest is amazing how it can bring in lots and lots of people.

I'm following you now on there.

Thanks for the info on Sitemaster. I signed up for it today. It looks like a great way to get more data.

Have a great day.

Other than the obvious which is talk about and post about what you truly love....had no idea but Sharon from French Country Home told me how to check your blogs pictures that have been copied and it was interesting and surprising...you are right its a big resource for new traffic!
I think also getting around to other blogs and interacting with those you feel a connection with but so interseting what you said about Pinterest, because lately I have had quite a few people telling me that they found me through Pinterest.
Boy, things are changing fast!

Sherry I've pretty much had it work in reverse! I think I've gathered more blog followers to my pinterest than vice versa. But not many hits to my blog via pinterest. I did get the first person the other day who said they came over from pinterest and that was fun! And it's always a shock and a surprise over there to see my own pictures pinned....very surreal....OK I'm off to follow you! *winks* Vanna

Pinterest is my biggest referral site as well. That was completely unexpected as I intended to use it as a filing system. I am careful to only pin things I think are unique, helpful or beautiful. I don't want to spam my followers with my stuff. I've been following you on Pinterest for some time now. ~ Maureen

Sherry, I did sign up for Pinterest but have not been very active on it. It seems there just aren't enough hours in the day. It's amazing that you get so much traffic from it.
