One year Blog Birthday + Junkin

One year ago yesterday I started this little blog not really knowing what I was getting myself into!  I never would have guessed the joy blogging would bring me and the friendships I would develop.  I consider each of you to be my dearest friends that I so enjoy visiting with each morning.  Blogging is like living in a neighborhood full of talented and  fabulous people that all have similar interest and enjoy most of the same things you do.  I have the absolute best neighborhood !

I am amazed and inspired everyday at the talent and creativity posted and I have learned so much from each of you.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Speaking of blogging buddies.  Lynn from The Vintage Nest  and I spent a fun day antiquing and junkin.  We started out at  Snow Creek Farms  Christmas open house.  The shop is the entire downstairs of this fabulous old home and the ladies at Snow Creek Farms had it decorated beautifully.  The home is full of antiques and vintage items available for sale. They even had the outside decorated with beautiful quilts hanging from clotheslines, wicker furniture and they served hot apple cider with sweet goodies.  Below are some pictures of this darling shop.

Lynn and I stopped at a couple of antique shops, a garage sale and a thrift store on our way to Through The Garden Gate.  This shop always has the prettiest and most unique seasonal decorations and this weekend was their Christmas open house.

Sorry about the bad photos. There was very little natural light.

After leaving these shops I wanted to come straight home and start pulling out my boxes of Christmas decor but my family would have had me committed!  I do think I will start decorating the shop next week though.

It was a really fun day and I got lots of ideas for Christmas decorating  I did buy some decorations, antique bottles and silver plate for my shop.

I am joining the parties at:

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Hugs,
Sherry

Thanks for taking us along on your fabulous treasure hunt this weekend. You have introduced some places that I have never heard of before, and I look forward to making a personal visit to see to each shop in person. Both of these places are within easy commuting distance of home here in Fredericksburg, and I'm thrilled to get a preview of what they have to offer!

Hi Sherry, Happy Blogging Anniversary! You have a beautiful blog and it is obvious that you enjoy blogging. I am seeing all the Christmas in the stores now and would love to start my house, but like you, I would be in trouble with the family! Must have fall decor for Thanksgiving dinner! Linda

Happy Blogoversary, Sherry! What a great shop! I love shops set up in a house like this. We have an old house {mansion for the time?} here that used to do a holiday fair and you've got me curious if they still hold it. I'll have to check because I used to love going. I didn't always buy something, but the house itself is just lovely, and it was set up on both floors.

Happy Anniversary Sherry, I love stopping by to see what you've been up to. Your day trip looks like my idea of a great way to spend a few hours with friends. Thanks so much for the pictures, I would love to stop by the area sometime if these shops are an indication of what is available, everything looks so put together.

I have "found" you by way of Lynn at The Vintage Nest. Lynn was one of my first blogging pals when I started about 2 1/2 years ago. I so loved her post about meeting up with you recently and going to this very open house you shared, too! How awesome to find a kindred spirit to share outings with. I told her I was jealous! :) I love your photos of Snow Creek...I know I would have left with several of their items!! I also LOVED your post about your Mom Cave!! OMG...I want one like yours! I have a question....do you have a TV in that room and, if so, is is on a table or in a cabinet...or on a wall? I have tried to find furniture for my little office for over 5 years, and nothing seems to work. l LOVE your settee...what a find and what a great job you did in giving it a new life!!

Looking forward to many more visits!! dana

Congratulations on a year! I know what you mean, I had no idea what I was getting into, although I was nervous about being committed. Now I love being committed - hope they don't have to commit me one day because I went nuts blogging.

What a fun shopping expedition. I love the all white room. A beautiful shop is just eye candy isn't it?
